BTS’s RM has donated 100 million won to support the acquisition of artifacts for the National Museum of Korea.

According to the museum on September 30, RM made the donation on September 29 through a nonprofit organization that supports the museum. The funds will be used by the organization to purchase cultural artifacts, which will then be donated to the museum’s collection. The organization has long backed the museum’s work, including artifact acquisitions, academic research, and facility development.

The donation follows RM’s appointment in June as the museum’s global ambassador, the first time the National Museum of Korea has named a global ambassador since its founding. RM said he was glad to be able to contribute and that he hopes to keep working with the museum to share Korean culture with audiences around the world.

RM has a long record of supporting Korean art and cultural heritage. He has previously made donations to help republish out-of-print art books, bring overseas Korean cultural artifacts back home, and publish a catalog of Korean paintings held in museums abroad.

Meanwhile, RM is also preparing to open ‘RM x SFMOMA: Between You and Me,’ an exhibition he co-curated at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, which runs from October 3 through February 7, 2027.
